Position Overview:

The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating a full range of heavy equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator is a full-time, seasonal position that requires travel with overtime, reports to the Foreman, and has no supervisory responsibility.

Essential Duties and Functions:
  • Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects
  • Operate a full range of heavy equipment (i.e. skid steer, excavator, motor grader, backhoe, compact roller, front end loader, dozer, scraper, etc.)
  • Operate and maintain other equipment as needed
  • Perform inspections and maintenance of equipment such as greasing, checking oil, water, and tires/tracks
  • Perform physical duties about grade prep and/or grading work (i.e. shovel, sledgehammer, rake, etc.)
  • Follow, enforce, and promote all company safety and quality requirements at all times
  • Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours
Position Requirements:
  • Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Five years of experience in heavy equipment
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of road construction materials, processes, and industry requirements
  • Understand instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbal
