Summary

Spire Inc. is seeking a Compressor/Mechanical Tech I to work in the Evanston, Wyoming location. This position will be responsible for performing operations and maintenance work on buildings, compressors and auxiliary equipment located within buildings, and outdoors. Maintains and operates equipment related to the injection and withdrawal of natural gas processing equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Constructs, tests, alters or improves diverse piping, valves, and machinery components.
* Operates all machine shop and automatic equipment when required.
* Inspects and maintains all facility equipment.
* Preventative Maintenance on rotating equipment.
* Installs and repairs all plant and station equipment.
* Use of hand and power tools.
* May be required to work off-hour shifts as required.
* All other duties as assigned

N/A

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

* High School Diploma or GED

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

* 0-4 years of experience of gas storage/energy industry preferred
* Previous experience in gas plant maintenance or mechanical background, preferred
* Read/Understand and use precision measurement equipment.
* Ability to read and understand P&IDs and flow diagrams.
* Familiarity with pumps/and compressors
* Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
* Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
* Be compliant with all OSHA, DOT, FERC regulations, state, and federal regulations
* Abide by all industry and plant safety policies.
* Ability to pass random drug testing
* Must complete and pass a physical
* Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive safely

Physical demands, environment and schedule

* Work Environment - Work is performed in an office/ plant environment outdoors and in all weather conditions
* After 4-month training required year-round rotating shift work schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Works primarily 12 hour rotating shifts, consisting of day and night shifts. Occasional over-time and on-call work.
