JOB TITLE:

Public Health Analyst - Rural Health

JOB PURPOSE:

The incumbent will serve as senior staff in the Wyoming Rural Health Institute, helping to set vision for and manage complex projects and initiatives. Responsibilities will include providing subject-matter expertise in one or more public health areas, serving as a thought-leader in developing innovative strategies for improving public health, synthesizing multiple lines of information in creating evidence-based policy recommendations, designing and implementing comprehensive evaluation and analysis plans to answer multifaceted research questions, working with communities and agencies in effecting public health change, coordinating and supervising the work of functional staff across multiple initiatives, and other senior leadership duties in support of the Institute. The incumbent may also provide program management and implementation support to specific initiatives in the Wyoming Rural Health Institute as needs arise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing subject-matter expertise and thought leadership in one or more public health areas to guide program development and implementation, strategic planning, and community impact. Expanding expertise in high-priority areas to better support ongoing and new initiatives.
  • Investigating and providing recommendations regarding policies and initiatives to improve public health, including researching best and promising practices; determining resource and infrastructure needs for potential initiatives; identifying local, state, and federal policy levers for health priorities; identifying barriers to implementation of new policies and initiatives and developing recommendations for overcoming those barriers; and synthesizing policies and innovations into concrete sets of recommendations.
  • Designing and implementing comprehensive data collection, evaluation, and analysis plans, including creating study and data protocols; training staff at multiple organizations in data collection and evaluation procedures and overseeing the ethical and rigorous collection of information; developing and overseeing complex plans for the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data; coordinating the work of other data analysts; and preparing manuscripts, reports, presentations, and white papers resulting from data and evaluation efforts.
  • Collaborating with community organizations, governmental agencies, community members, clinical entities, and other stakeholders in identifying, addressing, and evaluating public health challenges, including building coalitions; maintaining critical partnerships; guiding partners through prioritization and goal-setting; identifying and resourcing strategies; and building infrastructure for sustainability.
  • Coordinating and supervising the work of staff and supervisors across multiple initiatives, including goal setting, assignment of duties, evaluation of performance, and training.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate to be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience: Master's degree in public health, social science, or a related field and 1-2 years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree in public health, social science or a related field and 4-5 years of relevant experience.

Required licensure, certification, registration, or other requirements: Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the .

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
