Title: Distribution Supervisor

Location: Green River, WY

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively lead employees in all areas around safety with demonstrated "Safety Leadership" skills
  • Develop and maintain monthly plan schedules that incorporates but not limited to: employee training, area cleaning, area maintenance, outage planning, loading/packaging schedules
  • Develop and measure performance against area KPI and hold team accountable for results
  • Manage work schedules, vacation coverage, overtime and payroll to maintain efficient operations of distribution area
  • Develop and maintain monthly plant schedules that incorporates but not limited to: employee training, area cleaning, area maintenance, outage planning, loading/packaging schedules
  • Foster crew participation and ownership of results
  • Engage crew members to instill a sense of urgency
  • Consistently manage performance
  • Confront and manage conflict directly and effectively
  • Understand individual team members' strengths and needs to proactively seek coaching opportunities to develop the team
  • Develop the team's problem-solving capabilities and facilitate team problem-solving activities
  • Create/foster a positive work environment
  • Coordinate with maintenance work on dayshift and insure the equipment is properly inspected and tested after repairs are completed
  • Facilitate incident/accident investigation and ensure environmental compliance
  • On-site incident command
  • Provide support during customer, certification, and regulatory audits/inspections

Activities:

  • Safety
    • Develop area specific safety action plans and manage results against plan
    • Develop job specific training needs, train and field verify knowledge, understanding and document results
    • Master Balmert or other site skills requirements and comply with site requirements; SORRY+/- and HRP's
    • Facilitate incident/accident investigation
    • Near miss reporting
    • Identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Operations
    • Develop job specific training needs - train and field verify knowledge
    • Collect and verify daily production and report as required
    • Develop monthly schedule consistent with business needs and update daily to document performance plan
    • Insure that equipment and area is ready for maintenance activities
    • Help Develop and Manage KPI's measures to improve operations
    • Monitor equipment and write appropriate work notifications
    • Off-shift coordination
    • Participate in shift hand-off meeting
  • Employee Related
    • Team Communication
    • Conflict resolution
    • Employee training
    • Time card verification
    • Work schedules - Overtime, vacation, work assignments, etc.
    • Manage to Union Contract Language
    • Grievance investigation and answers
    • Administer performance discussions
  • Other
    • Resolve data discrepancies
    • Investigate customer quality questions; identify and implement corrective actions
    • Comply with regulatory requirements including: ISO, Q7A FSMA, Food Safety, USP, Air Permits, etc.
    • Relieve for Distribution Production Manager
    • Support ISO 9000 efforts
    • Identify cost savings, efficiency improvement projects
    • Serve as a member of the Food Safety Team
    • Work production weekend duty
    • Support Responsible Care Program

Skills & Capabilities:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED and 3 years industrial experience required
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills

Preferred:

  • B.S. in Engineering OR
  • High school diploma or GED and one year line, industrial supervisory experience (Supply Chain or Warehouse preferred) OR
  • High school diploma or GED and 5 years ALKALI experience
  • Ability to learn complex task, SAP knowledge, planning and schedule skills and demonstrated leadership skills
