JOB TITLE:

Program Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE:

Coordinate the daily operation of the Center for Assistance with Statistics and Mathematics (CASM), supervise part-time student tutors, assist students and faculty with mathematics/statistics class placement and registration. Assist Math Placement Coordinator/CASM Director as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate the daily operations of the Center for Assistance with Statistics and Mathematics (CASM). Hire, train, and schedule tutor work assignments, approve time reporting, pay adjustments, and process terminations. Facilitate information between CASM content coordinator and students/tutors regarding updates needed to maintain relevance of content tutored. Maintain CASM calendars and schedule appointments for CASM faculty. Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of CASM areas. Design and produce various CASM communications, announcements, and signage with technical software. Design and produce CASM advertisements and make in-person visits to courses served by CASM. Schedule group study rooms. Schedule CASM team meetings, develop agendas, and provide summaries of content discussed. Maintain current knowledge of math and statistics course resources, and course schedules. Maintain and report usage numbers both in the CASM and CASM tutors provided to STEP. Use CMS to create and maintain web pages for the CASM and Math Placement; maintain an advanced knowledge of University web creation/maintenance systems. Maintain CASM WyoGroups for the CASM tutors and the general public.
  • Assist the Math/Statistics Placement (MSP) Coordinator. Administer proctored MSP Exams and review online proctored MSP exams. Interview and advise students regarding their math/statistics course requirements; assist students with interpreting their placement scores; interpret course prerequisites; advise students regarding their registration eligibility for courses. Advise and assist other UW departments and/or outside entities concerning the Mathematics & Statistics Department requirements and MSP programs. Maintain current knowledge of advising, University curriculum, and academic policies and procedures. Produce and distribute various MSP communications and announcements. Use WyoRecords, Perceptive Content, and Banner to assist with Math/Stat course overrides and registration. Assist with New Student and work with Saddle Up to plan and execute start of semester MPE proctoring sessions. Create and maintain procedure manuals related to MSP, both for own duties and for campus advisors. Facilitate hiring, resources, and training of outside proctors for MSP Exams.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: 1 year work-related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: None
