JOB TITLE:

Post Doctoral Research Associate

JOB PURPOSE:

The Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Wyoming is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral Scholar position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in physics, materials sciences, or a closely related area. The successful candidates will participate in the research program of Prof. Yu-Tsung Tsai's research lab to investigate the carrier dynamics in two-dimensional (2D) materials by implementing ultrafast pump-probe microscopy with external applied magnetic fields. The project involves 2D materials preparation and handling, quantum device fabrication, and magneto-optical studies at low temperatures. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated ability to carry out productive research, effective communication with faculty, staff, and students, and experience in at least one of the above-mentioned areas. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidates will participate in the research program of Prof. Yu-Tsung Tsai's research lab to investigate the carrier dynamics in 2D lateral heterostructures. The project involves 2D materials preparation with chemical vapor deposition system, quantum device fabrication, and magneto-optical measurements at low temperatures in a closed-cycle cryogenic magnet. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated ability to carry out close-related research, demonstrated ability for effective communication with faculty, staff, and students, and experience in at least one of the above-mentioned research focuses.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Doctoral Degree is required for this position; however, consideration will be given to applicants that are currently pursuing their Doctoral Degree and will complete the degree prior to starting work.

Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the .

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctoral degree in physics, materials sciences, or a closely related area
  • Have experience in 2D materials preparation and handling, Nanofabrication, and time-resolved pump-probe techniques
  • Demonstrated ability for effective communication with faculty, staff, and students, and experience in magneto-optical study in nanostructured materials and devices
