Job Description
Basic Function

HF Sinclair Parco Refining LLC in Sinclair, WY is seeking an Emergency Response Technician to coordinate Refinery-wide emergency response during site emergencies by acting as the On-Scene Emergency Coordinator utilizing the Emergency Response Plan and Emergency Response Team. Conduct the processes for the inspection, testing and maintenance of fixed, mobile and portable fire equipment to ensure resources are available at all times.

Job Duties
  • Coordinate all site emergencies with on-shift operations staff and Emergency Response Team.
  • Provide emergency medical assistance.
  • Provide Safety Specialist Coverage for off-shift and weekends. (e.g. Work Permitting, Job Safety Analysis).
  • Ensure emergency response mobile and fixed equipment is operational and available for emergency response.
  • Develop and train Emergency Response Team.
  • Participate in Management-of-Change process for fire prevention and mitigation/Pre-Startup Safety Review.
  • Communicate fire water impairments to site management.
  • Provide training on fire-related subjects during New Employee Safety Training.
  • Ability to work complex emergency response issues during emergency conditions.
  • Follow-through on commitments made to others.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

Requirements are: two (2) years of Petroleum Refining Experience and NIMS ICS 100, 200 and 700 Certifications, Wyoming State EMR Certification, High Angle/Confined Space Rescue Tech, NFPA 1081 Certification will be required within 1 year of hire date.

Preferred applicants will have: Emergency Service Experience, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Operations or Technician Certifications. Firefighter 1, 2 or above Certifications. Emergency Medical Responder or Higher EMT Certification. Degree in Fire Science or Emergency Management. Technical Rope Rescue Certifications or experience. Technical knowledge of Refinery Operations. Skillful in Microsoft Office Programs. Refinery Emergency Response Experience. Knowledge or related experience on Water Delivery Systems, Firetruck and fixed Fire Pump Operations. Effective written and oral communication skills.

Education Level

High School diploma or GED

Required Skills

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Technical knowledge of Refinery Operations. Skillful in Microsoft Office Programs. Refinery Emergency Response Experience. Knowledge or related experience on Water Delivery Systems, Firetruck and fixed Fire Pump Operations. Effective written and oral communication skills.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

None.

Work Conditions

Office based, field based and, with travel up to 10% of the time by land or air is required. Petroleum refinery, and out-of-door environments, including, but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks and rotating equipment, fumes or airborne particles and loud noises and vibrations. Required to work in all temperatures including outdoors and confined spaces. Subject to varying road and weather conditions

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspection, making precise hand & finger movements, reaching and grasping, lifting and/or carrying 25lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 15 lbs and climbing up to 50 ft, perceiving color differences, strenuous physical activity and, the ability to wear personal protective equipment (bears not permitted).
