Work with local plant management. Responsible for management and maintenance of the Quality Management System. Provide support for implementation of systems to ensure processes are in control and products are within specification. Establish, track, analyze, and report on key quality metrics. Use problem-solving skills, teamwork skills and the ISO-based QMS to drive continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions

  • Experience and ability to lead and implement a cultural change to a more quality driven business management system
  • Maintain and improve the Quality System
  • Develop "quality at the source" and promote process ownership
  • Work with plant management to create a user-friendly quality improvement culture
  • Create and deliver ongoing training programs for all associates
  • Be fully involved in new product introductions to ensure processes are in control and suitable quality specifications defined
  • Review current processes and equipment to ensure control and adjust accordingly
  • Address customer quality issues and use the data to drive improvement on the floor
  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams to solve quality problems
  • Establish, track, analyze, and report on key quality metrics
  • Address day-to-day quality issues
  • Manage the Internal Auditing process for ISO 9001
  • Liaison with third party auditors
  • Manage document control system
  • Ensure maintenance of the calibration system
  • Periodically review the status and results of the Quality System with management (Management Review of QMS)
  • Work with Supply Chain and Supplier QE to implement and maintain vendor management programs
  • Work with QA Director and other QA managers to drive company-wide standardization
  • Work with QA Director to develop local budget
  • Lead, mentor, and coach the QA team
  • Ability to implement Kaizen, 5S and 8D initiatives
  • Manage large military contracts through execution phase (FAT, LAT)
  • Manage CAPEX projects to improve Quality Assurance and testing, reduce costs

Required Experience

  • Five (5) to ten (10) years' experience in Quality Assurance
  • Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in Quality Engineering preferred

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in an Engineering or Science field, or Associates degree and equivalent combination of experience.
  • ASQ certification is a plus

  • Ability to prioritize, focus on, execute and achieve closure on action items
  • Efficient problem-solving skills and techniques, including use of cross functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Bilingual(English/Spanish) preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Proficient in Minitab
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Hands-on knowledge of ISO 9000
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred
