JOB TITLE:

WPM - IT/Engineering Associate

JOB PURPOSE:

Assist with operating Wyoming Public Media broadcast network.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain current studio operation such as computer assistance, IT help, and broadcast equipment install.
  • Monitor radio site functionality and equipment.
  • Set up and troubleshoot RF equipment.
  • Occasionally travel to radio sites for installation and maintenance.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in digital audio formats
  • Basic knowledge of broadcasting and ability to learn FCC guidelines.
  • Impeccable reliability, focus, ability to problem-solve and to take direction.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace/Adobe.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to learn RF equipment and layer 3 networking.

ABOUT WYOMING PUBLIC MEDIA:

Wyoming Public Media is a statewide public media network operating four radio channels and one digital service. It broadcasts local programming as well as NPR national and BBC global productions. Formats include talk, news, music, culture, entertainment. The network's main studio is in Knight Hall, on the UW campus.
