JOB TITLE:

Project Manager - Education and Family Support

JOB PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to develop and deliver interdisciplinary training, education and research to improve the Pre-K - 12 and post-secondary educational outcomes for students with disabilities and their families. This position, with oversight from the Director of Community Education and Training, will manage multiple projects and tasks related to sponsored projects at WIND. This position will also be responsible for writing for and securing funding from state, regional and federal sources to support new and existing projects to align with the mission of WIND to improve educational outcomes for students and families.

This position is grant funded and considered at-will employment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and deliver online, in-person and hybrid training to support implementation of best and promising practices in PreK - 12 and post-secondary education
  • Lead the writing of grants and contract proposals to support new programs at the Wyoming Institute for Disabilities with specific emphasis on Pre-K - 12 education and family support
  • Write and submit reports for projects related to Pre-K - 12 education and family support
  • Support research and program feasibility studies related to post-secondary education and K-12 transition to post-secondary employment
  • Develop training and programs related to post-secondary transition to include work, independent living and post-secondary education.
  • Represent the Community Education and Training team and WIND programs at grant functions, or other meetings and events, which may include reporting on projects, planning collaborations with other project professionals, and evaluating projects
  • Coordinate and manage the administrative and personnel activities of multiple designated large and/or complex projects
  • Consult with faculty, counselors, staff members, and the public to assist students and/or program participants associated with projects
  • Assist in the development of project goals and objectives and revise as necessary; develop and implement a comprehensive plan for delivery and assessment of project objectives and goals
  • Assist with the management of programmatic staff working in the areas of education and family support.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

  • May provide guidance or supervision of WIND support staff.
  • Perform other special assignments, as assigned.
  • Serve on committees and represent the unit at various meetings and events.
  • Recommend and participate in the development of policies and procedures.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a a related field of education, early childhood, disability studies, psychology, social and special education.
  • Experience: 3-5 years work-related experience, including administration, supervision, grant and contract management

Required licensure, certification, registration, or other requirements:

  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the .

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree and 4 years work-related experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve and manage competing priorities
  • Evidence of teamwork and rapport building with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working with students with challenging behaviors and designing training to address complex needs of children and adults with challenging behaviors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in teams and with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities and potentially conflicting timelines
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in pre-K - 12 education and transition settings
  • Experience securing funding to support program development in education
  • Experience leading teams from different disciplines and varying levels of experience
