Position Overview:

The Asphalt Plant Laborer/Mechanic will be responsible for a variety of tasks at the asphalt plant. The Asphalt Plant Laborer/mechanic is a full-time, seasonal position that requires travel with overtime through peak season, reports to the Foreman, and has no supervisory responsibility.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects
  • Operate tools and equipment as needed (hand tools, skid steers, man lift, etc.)
  • Keep plant site clean (shovel piles, empty trash, etc.)
  • Offload asphalt trucks
  • Maintenance and/or repair of equipment as needed (i.e. grease bearings, fuel equipment, minor fabricating, replacing parts, aligning belts, etc.)
  • Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours)

Position Requirements:

  • Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test
  • Experience and knowledge of general construction and operating equipment
  • Understand instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbal
