This role is responsible for directing all aspects of the global costing accounting function. This includes coordinating, consolidating and/or performing the various cost accounting, planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting actions associated with cost down to gross margin. This role is responsible for providing meaningful commentary to leadership on results and providing suggestions on improvement.

Standardize, maintain, and improve cost accounting policies and procedures throughout the organization.
Provide training and coaching to staff, operations, plant controllers, and regional cost accounting teams to maximize the value of the team.
Coordinate and perform periodic accounting and reporting functions as assigned to the global team. Support regional and plant teams, as necessary. This includes but is not limited to monthly close, FIFO reviews, quarterly reporting, standard cost rolls, and physical inventory counts.
Analyze elements of costs down to gross margin. Provide meaningful commentary and actionable insights to leadership to improve profitability.
Interlock with FP&A teams on budgets, forecasts, strategic plans, and related analysis of actual results.
Improve and participate in the sales, inventory, and operations planning (SIOP); sales and operations execution (S&OE); and other integrated business planning activities.
Other projects, tasks, and duties as assigned.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Travel is expected to be a routine aspect of the position but will vary in duration and frequency based on experience, projects, and team needs. Travel is not expected to exceed 25%.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or similar. Advanced degrees preferred.
12+ years of progressive experience in a corporate environment or with a national public accounting firm.
Plant Controller or corporate costing experience.
Experience preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations and general accounting close procedures.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; experience with enterprise resource planning systems (i.e., SAP) and data warehouses preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of US GAAP.
Demonstrated mastery of cost accounting including standard costing principals, variance analysis, standard cost roll, inventory management, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
Knowledge of foreign currency and impact on accounting.
Ability to analyze financial statements and provide meaningful insights.
Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with employees and management both inside and outside the finance department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Yes, direct and indirect.
