Duties and Responsibilities
An Intern with Gerdau must have an eagerness to grow personally and professionally, being a part of a global company with more than 110 years of entrepreneurship and achievements in the steel industry. This program is for individuals with high learning agility and willingness to adapt and develop continuously, who aim at consistently outperforming in a variety of settings and circumstances.
During the program you will interact with team members from around the world. You will have the opportunity to learn on the job and work on challenging projects that will further your development.
Training and Development Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of our pipeline development programs, including but not limited to the following:
- Selection processes
- Event planning
- Organization of candidate files, etc.
- Management of shared inbox for specific pipeline programs
- Co-create new workshops with members of the OD team
- Assist with the organization of training events
- Facilitate and execute trainings as needed
- Review and manage surveys and assessments of workshop experiences
- Complete routine maintenance of our new Learning Management System
- Research on current trends within Training and Development in the workplace that could potentially be implemented into the workplace
Internal Communications Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of electronic screens (escreens) for communications throughout locations in North America, and create and execute a monthly communications plan for the escreens
- Create content, such as video, articles, photos, and graphics, that are part of our campaigns
- Assist with arranging North America and Tampa Headquarters meetings and events
Requirements
- Have completed at least two years* of a university degree from a recognized accredited college or university in Business Administration, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Labor Relations, Human Resources Management, Organizational Management, Adult Education or Mass Communications.
- Record of high academic achievement: Interns must maintain a minimum of a 2.5 out of 4.0 overall grade point average. Coop students must follow the requirements for their specific cooperative.
